One of the best things you can do
at your Farmington home to prevent a fire is to clean out your dryer. Dryer
cleaning is a relatively simple process that could save you a lot of hassle in
the future. But for a more deep and thorough dryer cleaning though, you will
want to call on the Farmington dryer cleaning experts, like Dryer Vent Wizard.
The first thing you want to do for
dryer cleaning at your Farmington home is unplug your dryer from electric and
gas outlets. Move your dryer out from the wall so the vent is fully extended,
which is usually about 1 ½ to 2 feet. Then loosen the vent clamp on the back of
the dryer and slide it out. Reach into the hole and pull out as much lint as
you can. You can also use a vacuum cleaner to help with the dryer cleaning task
to get out even more of the lint. Professionals like Dryer Vent Wizard can get
back there even farther to remove even more of the lint and build-up.
Do the same to the tubing you
just pulled out too. You can also use a vacuum for this purpose if you can’t
reach in far enough. Most of the lint build-up will occur at the ends of the
tube, but be sure to look all the way through to make sure you got everything
out of the middle as well. Then put the clamp back on the vent, reattach
everything and slide your dryer back up against the wall, but don’t plug it
back in just yet.
Now it’s time to do some dryer
cleaning on the outside of your Farmington house! Locate the outside dryer vent
and remove it from the side of your Farmington home. You might have to cut
through some caulk to get it out. Like you did to the indoor vent, reach in
there with your hand and/or a vacuum and clean out all of the built-up lint.
Then go back inside your Farmington
house and plug your dryer back in. Turn your dryer onto the air fluff setting
for a few minutes and let it run. Loosened debris and built-up lint may fly out
of the outdoor vent. After you let it run for awhile, reattach the outdoor
vent. And then your dryer cleaning chore at your Farmington home is done!
